The political brickbats stopped yesterday if only for a few hours. The 'generals' who have been all over the battle field exchanging fire works ahead of next month's crucial presidential election, briefly dropped their ammunition to talk peace.

The Abdulsalami Abubakar-led National Peace Committee had invited all the gladiators to Abuja to conduct their campaigns with decorum and rein in their supporters to ensure peaceful polls.
