Tinubu's intervention on Enugu APC crisis yielding positive result - Akinsehinwa

The intervention of the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the internal crisis rocking the Enugu chapter of the party have started to yield positive results.

The two factions of the party have agreed to a peace move by an independent reconciliatory committee put in place by the APC flag bearer after his campaign in the State last Wednesday.

Disclosing the truce brokered, the leader of the reconciliation committee and Deputy National Coordinator (South) of the Tinubu Shettima Grassroots Independent Campaign Council (TSGICC), Hon. Akinola Awodeyi Akinsehinwa told newsmen in Abuja on Saturday that his committee had made the serious inroads to the two groups and a mutually acceptable common front is being worked out.

Akinsehinwa said Tinubu noticed a sharp division in the state following the absence of some top party stalwarts at the rally on Wednesday despite their active presence at the airport to receive him and his entourage.

Concerned by the need to ensure maximum unity among all members of the party in the State towards achieving remarkable victory in the forth-coming general elections, the presidential candidate, raised a crack team to reconcile the factional parties in the state to mitigate and forestall possible negative outcomes that may arise from the current factional crisis that has engulfed the party.

Giving a preliminary report of successes recorded by his team, Akinsehinwa said: ''Reconciliation is on everybody's lips concerning what played out at the rally in Enugu on Wednesday. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has no problem in Enugu or any state for that matter in the South East. But as the APC national leader, he has undertaken to unite the party in close collaboration with the hierarchy of the national leadership of the party.
