Red Line: Govt extends traffic diversion at Yaba, Oyingbo by two months

Lagos State Government yesterday announced the extension of traffic diversion on Murtala Muhammed Way and Apapa Road, Oyingbo, by another nine weeks.

The extension, which was in furtherance of the ongoing construction of the first phase of the Red Line of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit, initially slated to end on January 27, will now end on March 31.

The Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, who disclosed this in a statement, said the total lane closure would be sustained to allow the contractor complete the construction without any inhibition during the course of the construction.

He said the previous alternative routes would also be maintained, adding that traffic on Murtala Muhammed Way would be diverted to Abeokuta Street, to access Borno Way, to Coates Street, to link Murtala Muhammed Way.
