Ondo govt faults Akinyelure on NG-CARES programme

Ondo State Government yesterday faulted the claim by Senator Ayo Akinyelure (Ondo Central) that it hijacked the Nigeria Covid-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) Programme and converted it into a state programme.

The federal lawmaker was said to have made the allegation during a recent Senate Committee meeting with the executive director of the Bank of Industry (BOI).

A statement by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Bamidele Ademola-Olateju, said Akinyelure also alleged that Ondo State Government hijacked and converted a Federal Government programme free grant of N3.2million per small scale business owner targeted to cover about 5,000 beneficiaries to a state programme where only a sum of N300,000 was given to each beneficiary.
