Napoli identify Osimhen's possible replacement

Serie A leader Napoli has identified Danish teenage sensation Rasmus Højlund as the possible replacement In readiness for the possible exit of Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen's scoring form has made him one of the most sought-after players in Europe with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Real Madrid hoping to snap up the Super Eagles striker.

But Napoli Sports Director Cristiano Giuntoli has not hidden his soft spot for the Danish who plays for Atalanta, describing him as a possible heir to Osimhen.

According to Tottosport, Giuntoli has fallen in love with the Atalanta striker arguing that he has the same characteristics as Osimhen like attacking depth and an eye for goal.

Contacts with the Atalanta management will begin from today to find an agreement on the price which it seems could not be less than 40m euros.

Before Giuntoli settled for Hojlund, his initial choice was Benjamin Sesko, the 19-year-old Slovenian who plays for Salzburg, but he has been signed by Leipzig for 25m euros.

For this reason, the Naples sports director has diverted his attention to the Danish.
