Man held for fighting 'dies' in custody

A young man identified as Uchenna Okafor has allegedly died in police custody in Akwuzu, Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The deceased was reportedly arrested for fighting.

A social justice campaigner, who shared the story on Twitter, claimed the deceased was one of three boys arrested last week for fighting.

'Three boys were arrested last week for fighting, and their parents were alerted about the incident.

He said: 'Uchenna's parents were asked to bring N150,000 for his release. Sadly, when they got there on Thursday, they were told their son had passed.'
