Lagos should give five million votes to Tinubu, says Ayinde

The Director-General of the Tinubu/Shettima and Sanwo-Olu/Hamzat Independent Campaign Council in Lagos State, Mr. Tayo Ayinde, has described the standard bearers as the best for the polls.

He said the state should be mobilised to give five million votes to the National Leader and Presidential Campaign Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in next month's election.

He spoke at the inaugural meeting of the committee in Ikeja, urging the members to girds their loins for a vibrant and result-oriented campaign.

Ayinde, Chief of Staff to Sanwo-Olu, said the council should through imbibe team work, articulate strategies and tactics, and carry out a data-driven campaign that will lead to victory.

He said:'The APC, no doubt, has the pedigree of incomparable electoral success in Lagos State, being the home of progressive ideals in Nigeria. 'The electoral successes have also been matched with trail-blazing proactive governance for the common good of the majority of the residents and visiting citizens, since 1999.

'Besides, Lagos is the home base of our leader, the National Leader of our party, the Pathfinder of Modern Lagos and the Presidential Candidate of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.'

Urging the committee not to take anything for granted, because democracy is a game of numbers, Ayinde added:' The demographics have changed, the electoral rules have changed and the stakes are higher, because the interests and desperation of the competition have been aggravated. Therefore, we must not rest on our oars.'

The Director-General said the messages of 'Awa lo kan' and 'a greater Lagos rising' should be taken to the nooks and crannies of Lagos to win support.

He stressed:'We must mobilize the young and the old; men and women; professionals, artisans, students; market men and women; etc, behind the Tinubu/Shettima and the Sanwo-Olu/Hamzat tickets.
