Reiterates unity, oneness of Ndigbo

Igbo community in Lagos State has reiterated its commitment to ensure Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is re-elected in office.

The community promised to ensure Igbo in Lagos vote for Sanwo-Olu, and All Progressives Congress (APC), presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

At a news conference by the Council of Ndieze Ndigbo, Chairman of the council, Sir Chris Offia, said the council, in conjunction with its affiliate bodies and members, would work as one body, under 'G50 Ndigbo Integrated Campaign Council'.

G50 was inaugurated on December 24 as an umbrella body of Igbo organisations in the state, to speak with one voice.

Chairman and founder of G50, Festus Uchenna, said: 'G50 is a concept and its focus is on unity the Igbo, to bring peace among the Igbo, and to remind us of the labour of our fathers. We need to remind ourselves to stand together so we can move forward.'

Secretary of G50, Chief Everest Ozornweke, stressed that the G50 ideology is for unity and progress of Ndigbo in the state.

'We have been disintegrated so much, and this is the moment we are coming together under a unified umbrella to ensure peace and unity. That is why we have called leaders of every Igbo group in Lagos so we can deliberate and seek the way forward,' he added.

National President of Igbo Stakeholders' Forum, Prince Nickson Okwara, hailed the G50 initiative, saying it would succeed because it was founded on transparency and sincerity.
