Lagos announces traffic diversion ahead of Buhari's visit

Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari's two-day working visit on January 23 and 24.

A statement by the Commissioner for Transport Frederic Oladeinde said alternative routes have been mapped out and officials of the Traffic Management Authority, (LASTMA) mobilised to manage traffic flow during the period.

He said: 'On the first day (23rd), movement around the Imota Rice Mill in Ikorodu, and the Lekki Deep Port Sea axis, will be restricted. On the second day (24th), movement around Eko Hotels and Suites, Ahmadu Bello Way, J-Randle, through Broad Street and Outer Marina will be diverted from 6am to 3pm.'

Oladeinde, who pleaded with motorists to cooperate fully, highlighted the alternative routes for motorists depending on the desired destinations.
