Kwara House of Assembly loses member

A member of the Kwara State House of Assembly representing Ilorin Central State Constituency, Magaji Abubakar Olawoyin, is dead.

He died in the early hours of yesterday.

Before his death, Olawoyin was the House Leader.

The House Committee Chairman, Information, Youths, Sports and Tourism, Awolola Olumide Ayokunle, confirmed the demise.

He said: 'The sudden event occurred in the early hours of January 9 after a brief illness. Janazah will hold at 4pm at Magajin Geri Family House, Surulere, Ilorin.'

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has commiserated with the bereaved family and the 9th House of Assembly, describing the incident as sad and shocking.
