INC debunks endorsement of Rivers PDP candidate

Reactions have trailed last weekend's adoption of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, by a group, Ijaw Wari Worldwide, as the preferred candidate of Ijaw National Congress (INC) in the general election.

Ijaw Wari Worldwide is a socio-political pressure group under the umbrella body of INC and Ijaw Youth Congress (IYC), The Nation has learnt.

Ijaw Wari Worldwide led by Chief Somina Wokoma, at an event in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, last Sunday, named Fubara and Prof. Ngozi Ordu dual governorship ticket as their agreed candidate for the election and urged Ijaw electorate to vote for him.

He described the emergence of Fubara as the PDP standard-bearer as answer to the yearning for an Ijaw governor.
