Immigration graduates 1,800, prepares to block non-Nigerians from voting

No fewer than 1,800 personnel of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) at the weekend graduated from the Immigration Training School Kano (ITSK) and Customs Training College, Kano (CTC).

It was the first time the training institutions graduated a large number of personnel in response to the current security challenges in the country, the Comptroller-General of the Service, Isa Idris Jere, said at the event.

He charged officers and personnel of the Service to be vigilant during the forthcoming general elections, saying non- Nigerians should not be allowed to participate in the elections.

Congratulating the graduands, Jere urged them to remain guided by the trainings they received as well as the agency's rules of engagement in their conducts.
