Ignore Obasanjo's endorsement, group tells Nigerians

Nigerians have been advised to ignore the endorsement given to the presidential candidate of Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, describing the former president as lacking in credibility to endorse any candidate.

The admonition was given yesterday by a socio-political association, Social Reform Group (SRG), at a press conference in Lagos. Taking the former president to the cleaners, the national coordinator and convener of the group, Dr Charles Marindoti Oludare, said Obasanjo, who endorsed Obi for president only did so in continuation of personal grudges against other candidates and not for the love of Nigeria.

Specifically, the group demurred that Obasanjo, who withheld local government allocations to Lagos State for years while he was president, has ever since lived in envy of how the then Lagos State governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, was able to sustain the state without going cap-in-hand to the federal government.
