Idps Having Conflicting Info Denied Registration

The Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) having separate addresses on their identity cards are facing problems in registration process, as around 15,000 persons have been denied registration. The non-registered displaced persons have been deprived of edibles, cash assistance and other facilities.

The displaced families living in Sokra area have also complained about prolonged power outages, as their transformer has not been working for the last 17 days and demanded of the WAPDA high-ups to install 200KV transformer. Furthermore, the excessive loadshedding has also caused shortage of water and the IDPs are compelled to fetch clean drinking water from the far-off areas to run their routine activities. Around 3,000 persons are living in Sokry Jowar area of Bannu where they have no facilities of life.

Meanwhile, Chief Executive Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar Prof Dr. Muzaffar-ud-Din Saddique dispatched a team of specialists, medical officers, trainee medical officers and nurses. Furthermore, medicines of more than Rs1.5 million were also sent for the affected families of North Waziristan Agency. The displaced persons are suffering from multiple diseases due to lack of clean drinking water in their camps.

So far 77,871 displaced families having 8,95,423 persons have been registered at various camps of district Bannu. Pakistan army has distributed ration worth 30 million rupees while total of 45,000 packages have been distributed.

From United Arab Emirates 20,000 food packages have been distributed among IDPs while 33,000 affected families received Zong cards through which they also received money.
