I'll unseat Bauchi governor, Kirfi vows

Following his removal as Wazirin Bauchi, Elder Statesman, Muhammadu Bello Kirfi has vowed to use his popularity and political influence in the state to unseat Governor Bala Mohammed who is seeking re-election in the forthcoming elections.

The former minister during the government of former President Shagari was removed for allegedly 'disrespecting' the governor.

Kirfi, an ally of the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, yesterday said Mohammed had betrayed the trust of those that worked hard to bring him to power.

According to him, nearly four years into the first tenure of the Bala-led PDP government, issues that affected the people of Bauchi, are yet to be attended to.

He said: 'I was instrumental in bringing him to power in 2019. I did all I could to see that he emerged victorious against a government that enjoys federal might at that time. I will kick him out of office as I worked assiduously to bring him on board.'

Kirfi claimed that the governor had fought every single political heavyweight in Bauchi that worked for his victory in the 2019 general elections.

Director of Media and Publicity 2023 PDP Governorship Campaign Council, Yayanuwa Zainabari dismissed the elder statesman's threat.
