Guber poll: Labour Party plots PDP's defeat in Abia

CHIEF Umeh Kalu, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), is the Coordinator of Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign in Abia State. The former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, while speaking about the March 11 governorship election in the state, insisted that the Labour Party (LP) is the party to beat in the state during the forthcoming gubernatorial contest. According to him, the party and its candidates are enjoying massive support across the state.

Explaining how the LP will defeat both the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 elections. He said the hold of the PDP on Abia politics will end on March 11. 'There is absolutely not much to show for these numerous years of PDP governance despite the trillions of naira that have accrued to the State as federal allocations, IGR, funds from donor agencies, Excess Crude Account allocations, Federal Government Interventions, local and international loans.

'The Labour Party gubernatorial candidate equally stands out amongst the array of persons in the gubernatorial race. Dr. Alex Otti has a track record of excellent service in the private sector where he has been all through his adult life. He is well educated both in character and learning and an economist who is grounded in the management of men and resources. He has a wide network within the national economic sphere and is equally known internationally.

The former Commissioner said the people of the state are pleased with the emergence of Obi as the presidential candidate of the LP and will show their love for him by voting for the party's candidate's in the state. 'The message of change which the Labour Party is propagating has been resonating amongst our young persons, the women and other groups within the electorate that earnestly yearn for a change in the management of our national affairs.
