Fed Govt lauds community health practitioners' efforts to curb quackery

The Federal Government has lauded the efforts of the Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN) to provide unhindered access to qualitative healthcare for citizens, especially the hard-to-reach people in rural areas.

It said the sundry efforts of the CHPRBN had helped the government to tackle and curb quackery.

The Minister of State for Health, Joseph Ekumankama, said this in Abuja while receiving members of the CHPRBN, led by its Chairman, Sule Toma, who officially submitted their report on the just-concluded National Report on Operation Show Your Certificate and Licences conducted by the board.

A statement by the Deputy Director of the Public Relations Unit of the Federal Ministry of Health, Ahmadu Chindaya, said the minister, who received the report on behalf of the ministry, lauded the giant stride and purposeful efforts by the board at ensuring that Community Health Practitioner were registered to avoid quackery.

The minister said the efforts had yielded good result.

He promised to ensure the implementation of the report for the good and benefit of all Nigerians.
