Experts make case for local artisans

The dearth of local artisans is having a rippled negative effect on the economy, especially in the area of prompt and efficient service delivery, Tunde Ebohon, the CEO of Wrkman has said.

Ebohon, whose online platform offers sundry home services, should know better as he once carried out a baseline study to ascertain the dearth of quality craftsmen around.

Most local artisans, he said, are wont to disappoint Nigerians, especially those in need of services such as household chores, outdoors among others, to mention just a few, little wonder organisations like Wrkman decided to veer into that space to fill the yawning gap.

Speaking with a cross-section of journalists recently at a forum to commemorate one year of its operations, Ebohon said one of the motivations for his business is to be a one-stop shop and go-to organisation for everything that has to do with support service across all frontiers.

One year down the line, an elated Ebohon said things are really looking up as the business is not just fulfilling its mandate but delivering quality services.
