Ex-Lagos commissioner Alake bags honorary degree

An honorary doctorate degree in Mass Communication will be conferred on former Lagos State Information and Strategy Commissioner Dele Alake today by Caleb University, Imota, Lagos State.

The 12th convocation ceremony will be presided over by the founder and visitor, Dr. Ola Adebogun.

The eminent journalist and Director of Media and Strategic Communication, All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), is being honoured for his contributions to the growth of journalism, pro-democracy crusade, democratic development, and good governance in the country.

In a letter to the former commissioner by the registrar of the university, Mayokun Olumeru, Alake was described as a communication strategist who worked with former President-elect Moshood Abiola of the defunct Social Democratic Party (SDP) and later served as commissioner under former Governor Bola Tinubu, who is now the APC presidential standard bearer.

The institution also noted the contributions of Alake to the ongoing electioneering as the APC-PCC Director of Media and Strategic Communication.
