Emefiele resumes amid tight security

Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor Godwin Emefiele resumed work in his office on Monday.

However, officers of the Department of State Security Service (DSS) also increased their presence in the building to provide additional security for him.

The Nation was told 'Emefiele entered the building in the afternoon followed by some DSS personnel'.

Officially, at least two DSS officials are always around him but a source at the CBN said about five DSS officials were seen around him.

The official also confirmed that before his arrival, some DSS officials were seen at the CBN Headquarters since it was rumoured the DSS wanted to arrest him.

'The DSS officials did not harass anybody or stormed the CBN. Don't mind them,' the official told The Nation.
