Bingham varsity tasks fresh students on skills acquisition, others

The management of Bingham University, Karu in Nasarawa State has urged students of the institution to acquire skills relevant to their academic field of endeavour before graduation.

Vice-chancellor of the institution, Prof. William Qurix, who made the call during the 18th matriculation, enjoined the students to be upright.

He noted that besides curbing the spate of unemployment, the institution gives students the opportunity to get involved in extracurricular activities, which will enhance their university experience and help them develop important life skills.

Prof Qurix said a total of 2,318 were granted admission to study various courses comprising 1,838 undergraduates and 480 Postgraduate students, and are therefore being matriculated.
