ARCON reads the act against content creators flouting advertising codes

Against the backdrop of continued exposure of unverified marketing messages on social media platforms, the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria, ARCON the apex advertising regulatory body in Nigeria has warned content creators to comply with the statutory code of advertisement to avoid sanctions.

The regulatory agency gave this charge in a statement signed by the Director General, Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo.

According to the statement, most of the advertisements exposed by this group of content creators are not only unethical with unverified claims and misinformation but also in violation of the Nigerian Code of Advertising Practice.
