AN APPEAL

"An appeal is a rehearing by the Appellate Court with regard to all the questions involved in the action, including the question of what damages ought to be awarded. See section 16 of the Court of Appeal Act and Section 22 of the Supreme Court Act. The Court can therefore substitute its own assessment if it decides to interfere at all with the Judge’s award.
