20-year-old unlawfully killed, says court

An Enugu State High Court has declared as unlawful, the June 29, 2022 killing of Philip Okoro (20), a resident of Umuobira, Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area .

The suspected killers, according to the state police command, are two vigilance members allegedly led by the Chief Security Officer of Uzo-Uwani council, Chijioke Ezugwu.

Justice M. A. Onuoha, while delivering judgment in a suit by the deceased's father, Pius Okoro, described the killing as unlawful, wicked and a violation of the deceased's fundamental rights to life and dignity.
