10 rescued from Rivers baby factories

The Rivers State Police Command said it rescued 10 victims of child trafficking during a raid of two suspected baby factories in the state.

Spokesperson Grace Iringe-Koko, in a statement yesterday, said four suspected operators of the baby factories were also arrested.

According to him, the victims - two adult males and 10 expectant women, including teenagers, were forcefully kept in the factories after they were brainwashed by the operators.

She said: 'On January 7, about 4:45pm, we received intelligence on the activities of a child trafficking ring in Igwuruta and Omagwa communities in Rivers State.
